...writing it down

Recently, I read Psalm 102:18.  It talks about the importance of writing- "Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD..."
It was encouraging to hear that it is significant and it is important that we write for posterity.  Somewhere deep inside, I know this.  It's the same place where the passion grows.  It feels like fertile ground some days and absolutely arrid, other days.  I think that's the way God intended it.  Otherwise it could become all-consuming.  I have learned to wait, when writing-to feel the prompting, to go with the flow.  I've also learned to read, read, re-read and re-read, and to ask myself  "is that what you meant to say?".  I am liking this journey.  It drags me along some days, and yanks me suddenly into unknown directions on other days. Most of what I write is what I'm experiencing or feeling.  But some things are masqueraded realities that are freeing when put down on paper.  This journey is an interesting one, a revealing one.  I hope that as I write, I will continue to find out who I am, and by doing so, leave a legacy for the future generation, that they may know me, inside and out.
