The big "C"

Our family has just been introduced to cancer.  My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer last week.  Our celebrations of the holiday season this year, now include research and generally gathering information on prostate cancer.  Wow.
I learned a long time ago, with the disappearance of my sister, that it CAN happen to you.  I and my family are not immune to life's challenges and disappointments.  But I have also come to know that challenges can be met and victories can be won!
There are a myriad of feelings that hit you with this diagnosis.  But we must sift through them and compartmentalize them to be in control of them.  We can't afford runaway thoughts, ideas and feelings.  We choose life and so, we begin this journey stepping out in celebration of our Lord's birth, the whole reason why we have hope!  Praise God for these challenges.  They strengthen and build us up.  Dennis and I are choosing faith in the promises of God.  The answers are Yes and Amen.  We are the head and not the tail.  We are blessed coming and going. Dennis is healed by Christ's stripes and it is our faith that will speak to this disease and it is our faith that will find him healed.  It is our faith that will walk with us through this challenge and give us peace and comfort.
"Thank You, Lord for your peace and may we be a testimony to the power of Your love!"
